The kitchen and mealtime often become the hearth of a retreat, and Chef Kristen deeply respects the role that food and place play in the heart of these experiences.
She will work closely with the organizers to make sure the menu is supportive on all levels, as well as how to incorporate both energizing and calming components, throughout the event to align with the program and the needs of each guest.
We invite participants to help prepare meals and to take ownership of certain parts of meal stewardship, as a part of a trade or scholarship component to the retreat.
This often helps guests feel a part of the organism and deepens their purpose and connection to the gift of each meal, which is extra special when folks are away from their home and comfort zones.
This is just another layer of service that Chef Kristen loves to help co-create with the hosts to deepen the experience and impact of their offerings.
Accommodate and Serve
Chef Kristen is a master of accommodating all kinds of dietary preferences, making sure everyone feels cared for and nurtured.
Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Nightshade Free, Dairy free, and Paleo guests can all be fed heartily at the same meal. Making everyone feel included is a super power that Kristen brings to every event, with careful planning beforehand to make sure everyone has what they need.

This is a menu from a local yearly gathering of 75 people for a weekend-long retreal for teaching and learning! It was held on an organic farm and the food was sourced as locally as possible and fed vegans, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, meat-eaters and other allergies. We love to make every guest feel included and well taken care of!
